Obituary of Grace Flossie Fogarty

Grace Flossie Fogarty, age 67, of Halifax passed away peacefully on Wednesday March 5, 2025 at the QE2.

Grace was born in Windsor on July 15, 1957 the daughter of the late Garwin and June (Lunn) Purvis.

Although Grace was a city dweller she loved to spend time outside and enjoyed her morning coffee and conversations with friends, especially in fair weather. Grace had a way of adding little things to a day and tried to keep her apartment building a pleasant space for everyone who lived there; she planted the lilac bush and added little touches in common areas for all to enjoy.  She enjoyed working and staying connected to her community; in later years Grace managed the busy Superstore Gas Bar on Joe Howe Drive for several years.  Even after her retirement Grace was a custodian for the building she lived in until her health prevented her from doing so.

Grace is survived by her son James Parker (Sarah Williams) of Windsor ; brother Stanley Purvis (Diana Rines) South Rawdon; half sister Barb Pick of Valley NS; and sister-in-law Karen Horst of Kitchener Ontario; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her first husband Jim Parker, the father of her children; husband Hadd Fogarty, the love of her life; her daughter Nancy Parker and brother Freeman Purvis.

Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Grace’s name to a charity of your choice.
