Obituary of Floyd Embert McCulley

A celebration of Floyd's life will be held on Sunday, April 13, 2025 from 2-4pm at

Maritime Cremation Centre, 67 Temple Terrace, Lower Sackville, NS

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Floyd Embert McCulley, 95, of Parrsboro, NS, on March 8th, 2025.  Born on May 11, 1929, he was the son of the late Harold and Hilda (Harvie) McCulley.

Floyd was predeceased by his parents, brother, Murray, sister, Lois, and his son, Barry.  Floyd is survived by his wife of 73 years, Laura (Bugbee), daughters, Rosemary (Bruce Rideout), Joy (Gordon Hubley), and Brenda Gaudreault, grandchildren, Richard, Jennifer, Brian, Angela, Luke, Greg, and Alex, and great-grandchildren, Brennen, Isabella, Jaxson, Owen, Taven, and Laura.

Floyd served his country for 27 1/2 years with various postings to Churchill, Germany, Gagetown, and Halifax.  As a young man, he was an avid hockey and baseball player, and enjoyed watching sports his whole life.  He was a devoted husband and father.

Special thanks to the staff of 7.4 at the QEII Hospital for taking such good care of him during his short stay.

Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, April 13, 2025 from 2-4pm from Maritime Cremation Cemtre, 67 Temple Terrace, Lower Sackville, NS.  In lieu of flowers. donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
