I have been meaning to post a memory of Jason for awhile. Jason would QC my publications work, and would sit down beside me and explain the errors and how to resolve the errors patiently. He was a teacher and a repository of knowledge. He was friends with everyone and we all respected and deferred to his knowledge. His favourite things in life including working on his home/land, and his partner and daughter. He talked about his daughter all the time and his whole face would light up. He would share the adventures he had with Brenda and regal us with his funny way of telling anecdotes.
The absence of Jason in our workplace has left a chasm of energy where he once sat and chatted. In the months since his passing, he reminds me to remember to take time for myself and my personal life, to nurture relationships with family and friends, and to remember that every day is precious.
He is so missed!

My condolences to Jason's family. He was a great guy, we worked closely and spoke every day. Being close in age and sharing similar experiences both past and present, I like to think we were close work friends. He was a friend, a mentor and a trusted confidant. The world is poorer for his loss. We'll miss him.
I thought you would appreciate these photos that he shared with me. He was very proud of you, Jessica and loved you very much, Brenda.

Each year either Jason or I would pick up each other's Christmas turkey and bring it to the other's house. Gone too soon.

I would like to express my most heartfelt condolences to Brenda and Jessica, and the rest of Jason’s family. My words cannot express the profound sense of sadness that overtook me upon hearing this most tragic and shocking news.
Over the course of many great years working together I have come to think of Jason as my work brother. I will miss you for ever J.

On behalf of the employees of Fleetway, I extend our most sincere sympathies on the passing of your beloved Jason. We are deeply saddened by your loss, and our thoughts are with Jason and all in his circle of family and friends.
Fleetway was Jason’s work family. We loved him dearly and appreciated his selfless support to others and his reassuring presence that lit up the office. Jason’s work was crucial to the sustainment of Canada’s naval fleet, and he performed his duties with excellence, always deflecting any credit owed to him while striving every day for quality in our work.
In Jason’s memory, and in accordance with Fleetway's tradition of honouring the loss of loved ones, we have made a charitable donation to the Canadian Cancer Society. We hope that this contribution will support research efforts to find cures, so others may live.
