Obituary of George Thomas Miles
The family of George Thomas Miles, aged 84, are saddened to announce his peaceful passing at White Hills Elder Care on April 11, 2025.
George is lovingly remembered by his wife of 60 years, Linda (née Daniel); daughter, Cathy Stothart and son-in-law, David; cherished grandchildren, Ryan and Peyton; sister Lucretia; brother, Bill (Doris); and daughter-in-law, Kelly. He was predeceased by his beloved son William, and his parents, George and Anne Miles.
George spent many dedicated years working in Spryfield at Crowell’s Pharmacy, eventually becoming co-owner. He gave generously of his time to the Spryfield Lions Club and the Spryfield Boys and Girls Club, remaining an active and valued member of the community for many years. He had a passion for sports and could always be found on the rink, the field, or the course—playing hockey, fastball, golf, and nearly any sport he could take part in. In later years, he especially loved every moment spent watching his grandchildren play hockey and soccer, and trying his best to understand the rules of ringette.
George’s journey with Alzheimer’s has come to a close, and he is now at peace.
The family extends their heartfelt thanks to all the friends and loved ones who offered kindness and support throughout George’s journey. Special thanks to the caregivers at White Hills Elder Care for their compassion and care during his short time there.
In accordance with his wishes, there will be no funeral or Celebration of Life at this time. If so desired, donations in George’s memory to the Alzheimer Society of Canada or a charity of choice are warmly welcomed.
