Wayne’s family:
My condolences on Wayne’s passing. Wayne was a good man. I got to know Wayne after amalgamation. We worked together as Sgt’s on the same shift for years. The laughs, stories, friendships and solved some crime along the way. It was always fun to come to work with Wayne. Keep your fond and happier memories close to your hearts. Unfortunately I’m outta country and unable to attend Wayne’s celebration of life.
Kind Regards
Charlie A. Verge

Dear Diane, Leanne & Neil:
We were heartbroken to read of Wayne’s passing, or Pooh Bear as we called him in the early years. We have so many memories of your first home, moving in and taking breaks for Diane’s delicious lasagne. Our early days with you and Wayne will remain ever in our hearts. We had so much fun together with you and Kevin and Nancy as young police families, especially at the police club. We are sorry we did not keep our friendship up over the years. However, we feel blessed to have run into Wayne at the Access centre in New Glasgow a couple of years ago and caught up on his family, who he obviously loved dearly.
We are still in Florida with the alligators and snakes, so will be unable to join you in celebrating our dear friends life. With our deepest sympathy and love, Ernie (Bob) & Colleen MacDonald

I only knew Wayne, at Parkland, for a short period of time. I would drive him to various appointments and locations when he required a lift. We talked about evrything during our journeys and he always enjoyed additional trips instead of going back to home base. I will miss him greatly and my condolences to family.

Dear Diane and Family ..
I was so very shocked and saddened to hear of Wayne’s passing. Although it has been many years since we had the opportunity to reconnect at the “church group” reunion at your’s and Wayne’s house and the first BC Silver High School reunion, it was nice to see yesteryear’s friends at those functions. Please accept my sincerest condolences and may your precious memories help to see you and yours through this difficult time and on the future.
Sincerest regards,
Lorraine Boutilier (nee the Bennett family)

Wayne and I worked together and had many good laughs. He squirted me one time while on Patrol when he and Edgar Card were working in another Patrol unit with a needle with water and I ended up at the Hospital for 6 hours with water in my ear it was a good prank with lots of laughs.

We were so very very sorry to learn of Wayne’s passing. He was very special to us! We’ve shared many a good meal and conversation with Wayne. He was always so happy to see what Ron was cooking! As others have said, Wayne loved his family and was so proud of you all. He always had a smile and a hug of welcome when we visited. We will miss him! Sending our love and hugs to you all.

We were deeply saddened to hear of Wayne’s passing.
As friends of Diane and Wayne for many years we shared a lot of great meals and good conversations. Not to forget a fun trip to Hawaii together. Wayne was a kind, soft spoken man whom we will miss. Rest in peace friend.

Heartfelt condolences to Wayne’s Family. He was a one of a kind man whom I truly loved as a person and a friend. I first met Wayne in 1996 after regionalization occurred creating H.R.P. We were both police officers, Wayne was with Halifax Police and I was with Dartmouth Police. Wayne was transferred to East Division which was the former City of Dartmouth. There he formed many new friendships and I was lucky enough to be one of them. There are certain people who come into your life that you connect with immediately and for me Wayne was one of those people. Together we had some great golfing trips and other adventures which led to so many laughs and a lifetime of wonderful memories. An added bonus to our friendship was the opportunity for our Families to meet and become friends. I will always cherish these friendships. Wayne loved his grandchildren with all of his heart. He raved about all four of them as he beamed with pride.
For me Wayne wasn’t just a friend he was like a big brother. He will be forever missed. R.I.P. brother. See you on the other side.

Wayne will always hold a special place in my heart. He taught me how to fish and quickly became my fishing buddy. We shared many meals together and lots of laughs. He was someone I truly respected and always felt I could count on him if I needed him.
My heart goes out to his whole family and all who loved him. Rest easy Wayne!! ❤️
