Obituary of Thomas George Chadwick

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Thomas George Chadwick, 94 of Halifax, NS, on June 25, 2025.  Born on September 30, 1930, he was the son of the late Albert and Sylvia Chadwick.

Thomas served his country for 20 years with the Royal Canadian Navy and after retirement went on to a second career with the Halifax Dockyard. He and Shirley also had an entrepreneurial spirit as was shown through their little gift store in Indian Harbour, N.S. (The Wood n Wool). The wood part of this small shop came from Tom’s hard work and skill of making Adirondack chairs and tables, planters and trellises. He also enjoyed his time on his Cape Island Boat fishing (when the fishing was good)!

He is survived by his daughter Janet (William Fougere), grandchildren Lindsay (Chris Tomes)Newfoundland, Thomas Fougere Alberta, great-grandchildren Jack and William Tomes; his sister Sylvia (Evans) San Diego; brother-in-law, Wayne Shinners and his caring friend, Lillian Grant. Thomas was predeceased by his wife, Shirley (Holland) and his daughter, Gail (Fitzmorris).

A graveside burial will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations in Thomas's memory can be made to Lung Association of NS PEI.
