Obituary of Ann Elizabeth Haughn

Ann Elizabeth Haughn passed away peacefully on September 1, 2025, in Halifax, Nova Scotia, at the age of 78. Ann was born in Halifax on January 27, 1947, to Evelyn and Thomas Curry.

She spent her career as an elementary school teacher, where she helped shape young minds with patience, care, and a love of learning. Her dedication to her students made a lasting impact on many lives. Ann was known for her independent spirit and quiet strength. She had a deep love for animals, especially cats, whose company brought her comfort and joy. She found great happiness in her grandchildren, Madelyn and Maxwell. Their stories and achievements always brought a smile to her face and lifted her heart.

Ann is survived by her children: Jason Haughn (Allison Penwell) of Dartmouth, and Laura DeLong (Jeffery) of Fredericton. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by her family and all who knew her.

As per Ann’s wishes, a small private service will be held in her memory. To honour Ann’s love for animals, especially cats, donations in her memory may be made to the Halifax Cat Rescue Society. www.catsinhalifax.ca
