Obituary of John Eric Budden

77 of Middle Sackville, passed away on September 20, 2025 at the QEII Halifax Infirmary.  Born in Glace Bay, he was a son of the late Leonard and Jean (Hillgrove) Budden.
 
John spent 25 years working with the Justice Department. He was an avid Sydney Crosby and Blue Jays fan. In earlier years he enjoyed bowling, golf, westerns and a good shot of rum. In his later years he enjoyed playing darts and crib. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
 
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Wendy Elizabeth (Anthony); daughters, Anita (Ross) Duff, Milwood and Sonya Budden, Halifax; twin sons, James Leonard (Nicki) Budden, Calgary and John Eric Budden Jr. (Jackie Gallant), Middle Sackville; Little Grandpa to 12 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; twin sisters, Shelley and Sherri, Glace Bay and sister, Kathy, Vancouver; brothers, Bruce (Rose), Glace Bay and Earl (Cindy), Sydney. He was predeceased by brother, Alan Wayne Budden.
 
In keeping with John’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Donations in John’s memory can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
