Celebration of Life
Obituary of Judith Fullerton
84, of Lower Sackville, passed away peacefully at the Victoria General Hospital on Saturday, October 4, 2025, with her loving husband of sixty years and daughters by her side, following a brief illness.
One of nine children, Judi grew up in Shediac, New Brunswick, completed high school in Stellarton, Nova Scotia and became a registered nurse after graduating from the Aberdeen School of Nursing in New Glasgow. Judi began her nursing career at the Windsor Hospital and the Grace Maternity. After spending time at home when her children were young, she returned to nursing at the Halifax Infirmary and later the Victoria General’s Palliative Care Unit. As her nursing career was winding down, she transitioned to a new role with the Heart & Stroke Foundation until her retirement. Judi was a lifelong volunteer, dedicating decades of time and energy to many charitable causes, including the Heart & Stroke Foundation, Meals on Wheels, and Beacon House. In more recent years, she was a founding member of the Grandmothers to Grandmothers group in Lower Sackville – participating in and leading numerous fundraisers in support of the international aid work of the Stephen Lewis Foundation. She was a devoted member of Knox United Church for over five decades and actively involved with the United Church Women (UCW) giving countless hours to organizing church events and fundraisers. She was an avid reader and Bridge player and enjoyed all manner of games and puzzles. She was both a teacher and competitor and was known for being hard to beat! She enjoyed crocheting and gifting her handmade baby blankets and watching curling and Jeopardy.
Judi led a full life and was an excellent role model for her daughters. She was deeply loved by her family and is survived by her husband Floyd, and their three daughters: Pam (Greg); Jill; and Terry (Trent); and six grandchildren: Evan, Matthew, Jacob, Nicholas, Rebecca, and Rachael; and her siblings: Nan (Ron); Phil; Doug (Wendy); Bruce (Debbie); Linda; and Steve (Nancy); and sister-in-law, Betty. She was predeceased by her parents, Clarence and Veronica; brother, Gordon; sister, Barbara and brother-in-law, Rae; and son-in-law, David Ross.
Judi’s legacy is one of activism, generosity, and quiet leadership - she rolled up her sleeves to make the world a better place, always guided by integrity and authenticity. She held deep love and pride for her family and cherished their time together - especially at the cottage.
No visitation by request. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 11th at 11:00 am at Knox United Church located at 567 Sackville Drive, Lower Sackville. Reception to follow. Private family interment at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cobequid Health Centre Foundation, the Stephen Lewis Foundation (Grandmothers Group) or charity of choice. Special thanks to the Nurses and CTA’s at the Halifax Infirmary and the Victoria General for their compassionate care, kindness, and support for Mom and our family.
