Obituary of Howard Frederick Brunt

Age 85, of Lakeview, NS, passed away at home on November 13, 2025. He was born on January 5, 1940 to his beloved late parents, Howard and Leona (Slauenwhite) Brunt.

Howard attended St. Patrick’s High School and went on to become an electrician.  Howard worked in the trade all his life starting with a family business with his father, Howard Brunt and Son Electricial.  He then joined the IBEW Local 625, constructing many properties and businesses in the city of Halifax and surrounding areas.  Howard was very proud of his work as an electrician, being a foreman on many jobs. He also had many difficult projects he had completed with pride and satisfaction. Dad loved to travel, taking many road trips, locally and abroad.  He especially loved driving to Florida every spring.  Beaches were his favorite place, but many historical and places of interest were a highlight. He was an explorer and relished the warm weather.  Dad also loved music and always enjoyed playing classics and movie themes. He was an avid reader, passing many novels down to his children of varying subjects.  

Howard is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Edna ( Bryan); his children, Mary Purcell (Barry), Jacqueline Foster (Steven) and beloved son, David; his grandchildren, Robyn Cross, Amanda Noonan, Jordan Purcell, Laura Purcell and Stephanie Foster. Howard had also 8 great grandchildren.  

He will be sorrily missed and eternally loved.    

In keeping with Howard's wishes, cremation has taken place place. A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, November 19th from 2 - 4pm at Maritime Cremation Centre, 67 Temple Terrace, Lower Sackville, NS.
