Obituary of Deborah Ann Jennings
It is with deep sorrow and much love that we announce the passing of Deborah Ann Jennings (Bowden), of Lower Sackville, on April 24, 2026, at home. Born on July 2, 1960, in Halifax, she was the daughter of Theresa Bowden and the late Edward Bowden.
Debbie worked at the House of Rodney and Wajax Industries and spent 17 years as a “coffee princess” at Beaver Bank Tim Hortons, where she especially loved seeing her furry friends come through the drive-thru. She was named Guide of the Year—an accomplishment she always held close to her heart.
She enjoyed listening to music while driving with her daughter, Amanda, and deeply cherished their time together. Debbie was a talented painter of wood and rocks, selling her creations to attend baseball tournaments with her son, Robbie. Her passions included family day meals, which she always looked forward to, and going for drives with her husband, mother, and sister—with a Pepsi in the cup holder. Debbie found peace in listening to the birds early in the morning, which soothed her soul while coping with her illness of cancer. On occasion, her special friend “Chippy” would appear.
Debbie was thoughtful and generous, always finding ways to bring joy to others—whether through baking cookies or her famous cheesecake, or by buying baby clothes for people she hardly knew. She loved putting smiles on faces and will be fondly remembered for sneaking corn twists to Sonny, her beloved fur baby.
Debbie leaves behind her best friend and soulmate of 25 wonderful years, Jamie, with whom she shared countless special moments; her beautiful daughter, Amanda, who lit up her life; and her handsome son, Robbie, of whom she was so proud, especially as a father to his own children. She is also lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Aiden, Lucas, Hunter, and Londyn, each cherished in their own special way; her mother, Theresa, who gave her strength and guidance; her parents-in-law, Danny and Joanne Jennings; her sisters, Peggy, whom she leaned on when she needed it most, Shirley (Ronnie), whose “never give up” attitude she admired, and Honey (Darrell); her brother, Ed (Michelle); her sister-in-law, Kelly (Paul); and her many nieces and nephews: Michaela, Sydney, Mylee, Payton, Chloe, Jennifer (Pete), Lauria, Angela, proud godson Bobby (Alison), Dawson, Eddie (Jennifer), Joseph (Jenn), and Christopher (Stacey). She also cherished her lifelong friend, Sue/Penny Lawrence, whom she considered a sister.
She was predeceased by her father, Edward Bowden; her niece, Amy; and her brother-in-law, Michel.
In keeping with Debbie’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and there will be no service. Debbie is now at peace and reunited with the loved ones who went before her.
