November 7, 1949 - May 3, 2026

Nhan Cong Le, 76, passed away with short notice on May 3, 2026 at the Queen Elizabeth II hospital in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. He left peacefully, surrounded by his wife Lo-an Dao Le and daughters Suzanne Le and Juliet Hartloper.

Nhan was born on November 7, 1949 in Saigon to parents Le Cong Chuyen and Duong Thi Toi. He is survived by his siblings Yen, Hung, Loan, Dzung, Phuong, Thanh, Thuy, Long and Tuan alongside their families.

Nhan was a loving and remarkable man who came to Halifax in 1979 after escaping the Vietnam war. He served as an officer in the Vietnam Navy for many years and bravely captained the boat that brought his wife, brother and five hundred others to freedom. He married Lo-an in 1980 and had Suzanne and Juliet in 1984 and 1987.

He worked as an electrical engineering technologist for over 25 years at Nautel Ltd. Since his retirement, he has pursued his love for travel and the sea, spending as much time abroad on cruises to every corner of the world. He said he wanted to show Lo-an the world, and he did just that. Rest well dad.
