Obituary of Christopher John Marryatt

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Christopher John Marryatt, aged 67 of Lower Sackville who passed away peacefully with his family by his side on May 17, 2026 at the QE2 hospital.

Chris was born on June 27th, 1958 and lived a very eventful life. Chris could be found on the field coaching Tara at baseball, coaching Chris playing football and coached with the Bedford Minor football team for many years.

Chris enjoyed his family the most. This is where he was at his happiest. He loved golfing with his grandson Josh at the Brookfield golf club where he was a member for many years, camping with his family, getting his first tattoo done by his granddaughter Darcie, hunting, or just going for a drive to the valley.

He was always there for anyone and had a story to tell.

He was also a member of the Masonic lodge. He was a member at Sackville lodge #137,as well as WD Lawrence lodge #101 in mainland where he sat in the oriental chair of Solomon.

He is survived by his children, Chris (Beth) and Tara (Joe), his grandchildren Josh and Darcie, brothers Norman and Allan and Sister Patricia and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife Shirley, his parents, Roy and Evelyn

A Masonic service will be held on May 30th at 1pm followed by his funeral at 2pm. All are welcome to attend both services being held at Maritime cremation centre located at 67 temple terrace in lower sackville with a reception to follow on site.

Burial with immediate family will follow the reception.

Chris was a man of few words, but a man of many words at the same time.
