Age 64 of Halifax, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on March 16, 2020 in the VG Site Hospital, QEII. Born in Dartmouth, he was the son of Arthur Banfield and his late adoptive father, Robert “Bob” Stockall and Grace Stockall.
He will lovingly be remembered by his spouse, Darlene MacDonald; daughters, Stacey Khosravi (Steve), Amy Stockall (Jeff); sons, Nick Daniels (Shelley) and Chris Daniels (Samantha); grandchildren, Alex, Colby, Camren and Savana; sisters, Silvia Cossaboom (Donald), Gordien Purchase (Russ) and Gloria Stockall; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sister, Donna Fedun.
Tom was a kind and gentle man who loved the outdoor life of fishing, hunting and playing darts. Also enjoying time with friends and family and being a father figure to many. He was the man who would think of others before himself; always loved telling jokes to make people laugh, most of all the love for his “new” puppy dog Freddie and his dog daisy and brother in law that are now with him in heaven. Tom was a well-known and respected man by many people. He served many years in the Canadian military. Tom enjoyed being a part of the Rinaldo’s Family Restaurant and had much love and respect for Sam and Tony Rinaldo and staff.
In keeping with Tom’s wishes there will be no visitation. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
Special thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff of the VG Palliative Care Unit, 7A for their compassionate care and support.
