Obituary of Francis Henry Landry

85, Halifax, passed away on September 23, 2020 from complications arising after a fall. It is with a heavy heart that I had to say good bye to my best friend and husband of 58 years. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late Robert and Lucy (Poirier) Landry.

Frank adored his children and taught them many life skills with much love, patience and kindness. He loved his grandchildren and dearly loved his late mother in-law, Evelyn. He enjoyed spending time with his late father and loved time spent hunting and fishing with his down east buddies. A favorite past time was playing the guitar and performing in his band, D Country; he played at many seniors homes and other venues. He and Patricia belonged to the Bedford Variety of Music Club and attended many jam sessions in the area. It was very common to see one of the family pets curled up on his lap. Frank was almost never seen without his buddy Patricia of 58 years, you rarely saw one without the other. Their marriage was a match made in heaven, they didn’t just love each other, they were in love with each other. Professionally, Frank was a licensed Mechanic, he loved his trade and was one of the best. Over the years he worked at the Shell in the north end of Halifax, Harold Todd’s Texaco and Shell in the south end of the city and finished his career at the Irving on Robie Street. Although he was a quiet man, he enjoyed making people laugh and usually became the life of the party. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Frank is survived by his wife, Patricia (Slauenwhite); children, Christine Anderson, Halifax and Douglas (Tammy), Ontario; 4 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; sister, Alice Bourque.

He was predeceased by sisters, Mary Wornel, Helen Bourgeois, Rita Sangster and Evelyn Arsenault; brothers, Edward, Jimmy, William and Donnie in infancy.
