Obituary of Nancy Cameron

Nancy Carrol Cameron, of Hammonds Plains, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 7, 2021 in the Halifax Infirmary site, QEII. She was a daughter of the late John and May (Burges) Cameron. 

 

Nancy graduated from Queen Elizabeth High School. She then went on study Nursing at the Nova Scotia Hospital. After graduation she pursued a diploma in Psychiatric Nursing from the same institution. Nancy loved being a nurse and enjoyed her 40 year career. She worked in Neurosurgery at the VG Hospital, Surgery at the IWK and then retired from the NS Hospital as Outreach Coordinator for the province of NS. 

 

She was an avid cook; loved trying out new recipes from her cookbook collection that she could share with family and friends. She loved to travel having been to many destinations over the years with her husband. She was passionate about her special friends and looked forward to going out to lunch with them regularly. A lunch in her honor will be celebrated when COVID conditions improve. Nancy’s pride and joy were her grandchildren. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. 

 

She is survived by her husband, Bruce, Hammonds Plains; Nancy’s children, Tara Lynn (Dwight) Brown, Oakville, Ontario and son, Craig Giffin; Bruce’s children, Sara, Montreal and Rob, Calgary, who both thought the world of Nancy; grandchildren, Matthew and Jordan Brown and Cam Giffin; sister Linda (Don Warner), Halifax. 

 

In keeping with Nancy’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Due to restrictions of the pandemic, there will be no visitation or service at this time.
