Obituary of Stanley Barker

Stanley “Bill” Barker passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Wednesday, February 17, 2021, ten days before his 79th birthday. 

Bill will be greatly missed and always remembered by his wife of 53 years, Eleanor; son Keith (Carol Anne); daughter Laurie (Michael); and grandchildren Layla, Max and Jimmy.

Dad was fiercely independent with a razor-sharp wit. Underneath his tough exterior, those who knew him, knew he had the biggest heart. He couldn’t do enough for his family, who meant everything to him. He always taught us family comes first. Dad was always an entrepreneur who started and owned many successful businesses. Dad’s love for golf was strong, perfecting his game at his home course of Brightwood for close to 30 years. He was so proud to finish off his last round in 2020 with a hole-in-one.  

At Bill’s request, a private service for the family will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a donation may do so to the Canadian Cancer Society.
