Our sincere and heartfelt sympathy to you, Kay, and your family on Fred's sudden passing. We were shocked and saddened, as he is gone far too soon. When we think about you and Fred together, we remember the two of you 'cutting a rug on the dance floor'! May all of you hold your memories close to your hearts. Gordon and Betty Foster

Our condolences to Kay and the family. I am Fred's cousin Peter. Fred was 9 years older than me so i looked up to him when he came to live with us when he first came to Ontario in his early 20's. He was a great guy who loved to kid my brother Greg and i. In fact my favourite Fred line was he told my brother and i that we were good for 2 things. We listened intently thinking he was going to complement us; instead he said we were good for nothing and no good at all. He zinged us again. He would always bring pizza and beer home after work and he would share it with our irish setter Banshee. I am glad that i got to see him the last time i visited Nova Scotia and i will always remember what a great guy he was. Fred's birthday is October 5th and mine is October 2nd that's how close we were in life.

Carol and family.
I am saddened to learn of Freddie’s passing. I have many happy memories of him teaching me to play softball. We also had such fun learning to dance when we were very young. My condolences to you, your family and Freddie’s family.

Hello Carol and Freddie’s family, We were so sad to hear about Freddie. And Freddie is how we knew him. As Carol can tell you, we grew up in Waverley right up the hill behind their house. Always being a kid at heart, Freddie use to chase us, and tease us often until we were in hysterics. His ‘cousins’, the Reid kids were our best buddies, being the age of my brother and I, and we always thought of it as a treat if Freddie gave us ‘little’ ones some of his time. It sounds like that ‘specialness’ stayed with him always - I am not surprised. I was at my dad’s yesterday, still in Waverley and almost 96, and we had a fun walk down memory lane telling stories of the ‘Meaghers, the Reids, the Stuarts’ - all families that welcomed my dad and mom to Waverley from Wales in 1954. Please know we have fond memories that enriched our lives. My love Carol. And my warmest smiles and condolences to Freddie’s family. He was one of a kind!

Dear neighbours,
My heart breaks to read of Freddy’s passing. We loved seeing Freddy gardening, and somehow felt he would just always be there to wave and chat as we walked by. He was so proud of his family and such a wonderful person and neighbour.
Colleen was our special babysitter for years, and know how much she loved her dad.
Prayers for comfort at for you all.

Condolences to the Meagher family on the passing of Freddie. He was one of the first people my husband and myself met when we first moved to Fall River. A very friendly and kind gentleman who always had a smile on his face and a whistle on his lips. He will be missed, may god bless you all at this very sad and difficult time, Kimberly and Cliff poole

Meagher Family,
It is with great sadness that I send my condolences on the passing of Fred. I was lucky enough to get to know Freddie over the past eight years while working at Dooly's. Anytime I heard that familiar whistle coming through the door, I knew I was in great company. From words of encouragement to funny anecdotes, Freddie always knew what to say to put a smile on my face. My thoughts and prayers go out to his loving wife, children and grandchildren, all of whom I know he loved dearly. Freddie was a great friend to a lot of people. He will truly be missed by all.

Fred has been a fixture at Dooly’s for as long as any of us can remember. Fred could often be heard whistling before we would see him. Always in good spirits, friendly, and helpful; Fred will be missed by his friends and staff at Dooly’s.
Condolences to Fred’s family.
