Obituary of Margaret Mary Gosney
75, Lower Sackville, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2021 in the QEII Halifax Infirmary. Born in Halifax, she was the daughter of the late Mary and Donald MacNeil.
Marg retired after working over 30 years as a Customs Officer in Canada Customs Revenue and Excise Halifax. In her younger years, she worked as a front desk clerk and vet assistant in a veterinary clinic and later as a clerk at Mount Saint Vincent University. She loved her morning coffee while reading the newspaper, going for drives and getting a coffee, working around her yard and gardens, reading books, watching true crime stories, word puzzles and collecting owls and cardinals. Most of all, she loved her family very much. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her twin daughters, Denise Gosney Brown of Lower Sackville and Michele (Wilfred) Gosney Corra of Middle Sackville; son, Andrew Gosney of Upper Tantallon; grandchildren, Alexander Brown of Lower Sackville, Christopher of Halifax, Nicholas of Western Canada and Sarah Corra of Halifax, Catherine, Connor and Elliott Gosney, all of Upper Tantallon; great granddaughter, Oaklynn Corra. She was predeceased by her husband, Wallace Maxwell Gosney; brothers, Wayne and Douglas MacNeil.
Special thanks to the staff of 8.4 QEII Halifax Infirmary for their awesome comfort, care and support.
In keeping with Marg’s wishes, there will be no visitation or service. A private interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Marg’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Association or NS Breast Cancer Society.
Deeply Loved, Forever Missed
