Obituary of Shirley Marie Chadwick

Shirley passed away peacefully on Friday, August 13, 2021 in the VG Site QEII. Born in Halifax on November 22, 1930 and daughter of the late Josephine and Charles Holland.

Shirley is survived by her husband, Tom, of 69 years; daughter, Janet (William) Fougere, Halifax; grandchildren, Lindsay (Chris) Tomes, Newfoundland and Thomas Fougere, Alberta; great grandchildren, Jack and William Tomes. Shirley is also survived by her brother in-law, Wayne Shinners; nephew, James Shinners; sister in-law, Sylvia Evans, California. She was predeceased by daughter, Gail Fitzmorris; siblings, James, Muriel, Marion and Carol.

Shirley and Tom owned and operated a Nova Scotian Gift Store for 38 years in Indian Harbour where Shirley made many knitted items, her specialty being fisherman knit sweaters. Mum’s last 9 years with Dad have been in Mapleview apartments, where she was very happy and continued to use her knitting skills to help others.

Special thanks for the care Mum received on the palliative care unit of the VG Site QEII.

A family graveside burial will take place at a later date.
