Obituary of Elwood Earl Simpson

The family of Elwood Earl Simpson are deeply saddened to announce his passing on October 19, 2021. 

 

Born in St. Stephens, New Brunswick, Elwood worked for many years in maintenance and housekeeping at Melville Lodge, where he retired from and met his wife and constant companion for 32 years. He was a humble man, funny and very knowledgeable on many subjects. He loved to tease and pull pranks. He will be greatly missed and always loved. 

 

Elwood is survived by his wife of 29 years, Jackie; son, James; mother in-law, Dorothy Baker “Mom”, all of Halifax; sisters, Linda Eisenhauer, Halifax, Barb Hurley, Saint John, NB; brother, Wayne (Theresa) Simpson, Maple Ridge, BC; nephew, Rex (Amanda) Hurley, Rerepis, NB, Kim (Harley), Saint John, NB and Jonathan Simpson, Vernon, BC. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother in-laws, Harry Eisenhauer, Baxter Hurley and Kevin Baker. 

 

In keeping with his wishes there will be no visitation or service. A private burial will be held at a later date. If desired a memorial donation may be made to the VG Palliative Care Unit in recognition of the exceptional care and compassion provided to Elwood and his family.
