Some of my earliest memories were down at the camp watching Terry, Effie, and Papa playing cards at the table by the window for dimes. There was always lots of laughter, but, Terry was always a little louder. He seemed larger than life to me, and happy as anyone could be. I remember his country music playing. Terry is the reason I even know who Boxcar Willie is. But the thing that made Terry the super cool uncle was his home movies that he would project onto a bed sheet down at the camp. It wasn't that the home movies were really cool, it was the fact that he always started the evening with a genuine Disney World or Bugs Bunny cartoon reel - Donald Duck, Mickey Mouse, etc. This was way before video cassette recorders, so it was truly an amazing thing for a kid to watch cartoons on demand. I am sure he got a big kick out of watching the grins on the kids faces as they sat down with their Jiffy Pop, and the cartoon started. Thanks for the memories Uncle Terry !!
