Louise Rogers

Obituary of Louise Virginia Rogers

It is with great sadness that the family of Louise announce her passing in Halifax on April 4, 2023, at the age of 74.

She leaves to mourn her daughter Christy and grand-daughter Alyson Rogers (Middle Sackville); son Scott Riehl (Ontario); Lifelong friend of 62 years Diane Wilson (Middle Sackville). She also leaves behind numerous nieces & nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews, whom she always tried to keep track of. She was predeceased by her parents, Archie & Alice McNeil, her husband Roy, Sisters; Sonya and Sandra, Brothers; Art, Fred, and Roy.

After 17 years, she retired from Capital Health. Louise’s greatest source of joy was her grand-daughter Alyson of whom she was immensely proud of. She always made sure Aly knew how much she was loved and that she was her whole world and told her so daily.
In the earlier years, if there was music playing, you could find Louise & Roy dancing, doing the jive, anywhere there was music. Whether it be at a wedding, a dance or just in the kitchen. This is what brought them together in the first place and where they will spend eternity.

We would like to thank the nurses Laura at Cobequid Community Health Centre and Morgan at the VG, 7A Palliative Care Unit for the exceptional and compassionate care they showed for Louise, Christy, and Aly.

At mom’s request, there will be no visitation or service. Burial will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to; Heart & Stroke Foundation, Lung Association, Lupus Canada, or a charity of your choice.

Mom, as the rock of this family, your backbone, wisdom, and love will be greatly missed.
