Obituary of Patricia Carol Landry
Passed away March 27th, at the QEII, weeks after being diagnosed with lung & bone cancer and days after celebrating her 85th birthday. Born in Halifax and raised in Jollimore, Patricia is survived by her children, Christine Anderson,NB, Douglas (Tammy), Ontario, Howard Blakeney, Ontario; Sister, Shirley Steeves (Allen), NB, brother, Douglas Slauenwhite (Linda), Ontario; many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Patricia was predeceased by her husband, Francis; parents, Roy Slauenwhite & Evelyn Rockwell (Swinehammer) and brother Edward "Skipper" (Anne), Ontario.
She was a talented woman making a career from knitting, sewing and ceramics. Patricia was proud of her children, loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Patricia dearly loved animals and owned numerous breeds of dogs over the years. She could play most musical instruments and loved to sing. Music was her happy place. Patricia was quick witted and will be remembered as a “speak what’s on your mind” kind of lady. She is now at rest with her husband, Frank, who was the love of her life.
Patricia and Frank renewed their faith in 2016 and had been growing in their personal relationship with Jesus. The committal will be held April 19th 12:15pm during Friday’s scheduled Mass at St. Benedicts Church, 45 Radcliffe Drive, Halifax.
A celebration of life reception for family and friends, will be held at the Fairview Legion, 50 Hillcrest St, Halifax, April 19th from 1:30-3:30pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the QEII hospital or the SPCA.
