Dear Tanis, Kirsten and Justine,
My thoughts and prayers go to you all. I just heard yesterday of Willy's passing via Imperial's annuitants communications. Although we have not been in touch for many years, please know that I very fondly remember and still feel our shared friendships during our early years together at Imperial Oil in Toronto. Dinners, outings, camping, boating, family visits and so much fun and laughter together. I was fortunate to hear about his Celebration of Life today and be able to share by Zoom. Thank You.
Sending hugs and love .... D'Arcy

Our condolences to Tanis, your family and Willy's family. We had the pleasure of being high school buddies. We will always remember Willy for how he approached life with such a positive attitude. His constant smile, and how he loved to be around friends and family. Family meant the word to Willy. How many people can say that they remained dear friends almost 50 years after our high school days and miles of separation. We will always look back and think how fortunate we were to have Willy and Tanis join us on their visits to Thunder Bay and sing songs around the campfire. We consider our selves very fortunate to have shared those happy times with him and Tanis. Willy may be gone, but he will never be forgotten.

Our condolences to Tanis Gelevan, Justine and John, and Kirsten and Omar, and Morris and Linda, Eileen and Danny and families. We will always have very fond memories of our times with Willy and Tanis. We will certainly miss our brunches, lunches, and dinners together and the times we have spent praying together, seeking God together. We will miss our many times we have coffee... more coffee... and much more coffee together!!! Just shootin' the breeze. Willy ... we will certainly miss ... your Mr. Christmas activation .... hehehehe... We have laughed and we have cried with you ... our dear friends.
We will miss our Willy, but we do, without a doubt, know that he is in full worship mode... with that wonderful low voice of his as he is with his Saviour and LORD now.
Love you guys now and for all eternity. Thanks you for welcoming us as part of your family!
May God bless you all.
Matthew 5:3-12
3 Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
4 Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.
5 Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.
6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
7 Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: ...

Condolences to the family. My vivid memory of Willy is he and Tanis dressed as Mother Nature and the Jolly Green Giant at our Halloween party on Vidal Street in Sarnia in 1987. He was a joy to be around.

Dear Tanis. We were so sorry to learn of Willy’s passing and will be keeping you and all your family in our prayers as you process and grieve this loss. What a bright light Willy was for all of us at Trinity, Sarnia. We remember his infectious laugh and his heart for god and I was personally blessed to have him as a mentor when he served as a warden and I was learning the ropes. We remember his cat in the hat costume and the fun he brought to that hallelujah party at church when our kids were little. So many fun memories. He was a joy to be around and we can only imagine the hole his death has left.
God’s peace to you all. Martha and Darwin

I was fortunate to meet Willy some 50 Years ago in grade 9 at Westgate. Throughout our friendship he remained a true and loyal friend that has become a role model and mentor to friends, family and those he came in contact with on how to joyfully live life. His infectious positive attitude was unrelenting and we are grateful and blessed to have known him and his family. We will miss him deeply and he remains in our prayers. Our deepest condolences to the Gelevan family.

Willy was a rare soul whose sunny disposition and infectious laughter could light up the darkest of rooms. I was blessed to have grown up alongside him and to have been welcomed into his home during a challenging period of my life. During the time I lived with his family, his positive outlook and unwavering support were the pillars that helped me find my footing again. He had the unique ability to make everyone feel seen and valued, creating a warmth that turned his house into a true home for me. His kindness and generosity knew no bounds, and his ability to see the good in every situation always left me in awe.
In this difficult time, we can all hold onto the cherished memories of his laughter, his endless optimism, and the kindness he extended to everyone he met.

Dearest Tanis, Kirsten, Justine and family,
Our world seems a little less bright with the passing of dear Willy. We were all touched by his immense joy for life, his deep faith, and his love for his family. His laugh lit up every room. We will cherish those early days in Sarnia, sharing many dinners and playing endless games of "Song Burst" ( which Willy and Tanis always won). We feel blessed that we were able to spend precious time with Willie and Tanis in Calgary and Nova Scotia. We have lost a true "gentle" man. Willy will be dearly, dearly missed.
Our deepest condolences to all who had the priviledge of knowing and loving this good and kind man.

Sarnia was a time of shared suppers, afternoon get togethers and New Parents visits. Thank goodness we had Kirsten to practice on before Marlys joined us, then along came sweet Justine. Willy was our own ' Alan Alda ' celebrity doppelganger! His eyes would be smiling before his dimples and smile entered any room. Always so happy....just about anything and everything ~ Heaven gained their angel back xo
