Obituary of Francis John Cox

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Francis J. Cox of Walton, Hants Co. on Sunday, June 9, 2024 at home surrounded by the loves of his life. Born in Pembroke, Hants Co. on May 23, 1944, he was a son of the late Edgar and Elizabeth “Mae” Cox. 

Francis was a loving husband and a wonderful father. He worked in autobody repair for most of his life as well as being a Jack of all trades. He was a lover of all animals, big or small. He married his best friend and the love of his life on June 29, 1968. He and Sandra enjoyed going to dances over the years with their friends as well as going on their own. Another joy was going out for breakfast throughout the years. Most of the happiest times spent involved music, playing his bass guitar, going to jam sessions all over and especially all of the years spent at the Kempt Shore Festival Grounds; he enjoyed meeting new people and making lifelong friends there. Some of his other loves were, Robins Coffee, CrissCross break opens and his beloved Archie Comics, a love he shared with his daughter, Rhonda. 

Francis is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Sandra; his loving daughter, Rhonda (Keith) and many other family members; his adored 4 Poodle grandkids, Abigail, Miss Bea, Abraham and Atticus. He was predeceased by many family members. 

Cremation has taken place under the care of Maritime Cremation Centre, Lower Sackville. In keeping with the family’s wishes, there will be no visitation or service. Donations in Francis’ memory may be made to the NS Lung Association or Hants Co. SPCA, PO Box 2274, Windsor, NS B0N 2T0. Hug your loved ones and pets today.
