Dear Kelly & family,
Mike was a great friend back in our school days & he will not only be remembered as the funny guy, but kind & loyal. We have so many great memories of parties at our place & Dawn's. Out and about, bowling and movies! I missed out, after moving to NB but loved connecting via FB. He lived life to the fullest, which some never get! I think of you everyday & hope things get easier soon. I hope to get down on Nov. 22nd.
Take care,

Brian and I were so saddened to hear of Mike's death. Such a wonderful person, gone way too soon. I loved creeping my mom's facebook page taking in all of your wonderful adventures. This news was a shocker and hard to believe! On Friday Nov 1st he was at my business, we were chatting about his next vacation in 90 days (famous count downs). I’ve known Mike since 2013 and he’s been part of my life ever since (When I worked at SSTL/CHO/opened ECSW). He was always a text or phone call away, grateful for the advice and knowledge over the years. He’s the only one that’s called me a kiddo and got away with it! My heart breaks for his family, work family and friends. Thinking of you all

Kelly, and family I’m so sadden to hear of Mike’s passing! I had the privilege to work beside him at Brenton’s for 7 years! His love for Christmas was always my fav thing about Mike! I loved it as much as him and we always started playing Christmas music in office by November lol! One great memory I have that made me laugh all over again was - I used to have candy in a dish on my desk and he and other tech’s would steal them all the time! Well I decided to get him back and put beanboozeld in my dish and Mike came in took one and left my office….. not even 2 secs later he was screaming what is that… he had taken a rotten egg one and we both laughed so hard we were crying - he said you got me I’ll never eat your candy again! In September I saw him pulling in the parking lot of Brenton’s and decided to pull in and have a chat… which now I am SO glad I did…. We spent an hour just talking about old days, his pride and joy the grandchildren and talking about his next trip with Kelly his love. Thank you Mike for all the years of laughter; jokes and unlimited smiles while in office, you will be missed by many. Sending love to all of the family.

I knew Mike through school, he was always making me laugh. FB connected us as adults, he still made me laugh, more so he made me miss my home province more and more with each morning photo. We would joke that we wouldn’t bump into each other on on of my trips home, but in the lounge of a cruise ship or while walking in port.
To Mike’s family and friends, hold the hug a minute longer.

Mayor Mike Burke is absolute!
Mike was just showing me a week ago his two granddaughters Halloween costumes. All of his Appy stories he'd tell me at work, his cruise stories - the cruise schedules he'd bring me to show me what it was like. The pictures I'd get when he was away. Kelly - you truly were the love of his life. The stories of Brittany and Danny growing up. The stories of the grandbabies...
The Christmas song of the day every December morning up until Christmas ...
I can't tell you guys how much my heart hurts for you all. I'd go to Mike for work and personal advice when. I was a frustrated mama-bear or needed guidance for work knowledge.
The Mike Burke look will be burned into my brain. The laugh, the quick wit, the knowledge.... You are not alone in the hurt for the loss of this stellar gentleman. He truly did raise the bar above and beyond for so many.
I'm so truly sorry for your loss. So many stories, so many laughs, so many lessons, so many tears for this genuine man and his loved ones.

I’m shocked to hear of Mikes passing. I haven’t seen Mike in the past couple years but used to look forward to his monthly visits. Always on the very last day of each month, but always making the deadline. I loved to hear of where his travels had been and where he was going next, and how he always made sure his family was with him as much as possible. I learned a lot of what a great family man should be. He will be missed by so many.

So very sorry to hear of Mike's passing. From 2009 till I retired from CBCL Limited in 2021, Mike came each year to check our extinguishers in our offices at the Brewery Market, and then later at the Maritime Centre. I looked forward to his yearly visits and our chance to get caught up on the previous year's news. I saw a Brenton's truck here in New Minas yesterday, but couldn't see the driver. I then sent a message to Mike's e-mail address to say hello and received the sad news back. He was a welcome friend each year and we shared a lot of happy stories. All the best to the family left behind. Conrad LeLièvre P.Eng.

Our condolences on Mike’s passing. We haven’t seen Mike in many years, however we remember he and Kelly’s kindness to our daughter over her high school years. We remember a very personable, kind and friendly man.
It’s quite evident from his obituary, the positive impact Mike had on everyone who encountered him. Keep your fond and happier memories, which apparently were too many to count close to your hearts.
Kind Regards:

Dear Kelly, Brittany, family and extended family. No words can express how I feel after hearing of Mikes passing. I enjoyed his daily posts so much, especially when he was on holiday…which was often.
I have so many fond memories of Mike from the girls field hockey days in the Gym at Lockview. I always enjoyed the games so much more when I’d walk in and see Mike in the stands.
Walking on the waterfront one summer with Nicole when she was home from the Yukon visiting, and seeing Mike and Kelly having a drink with friends. Mike let out his big roar when he saw us and Nicole chuckled because it was so Mike, she remembered him just like that from her school days, as a fan in the stands. We stood and chatted for a while and had a really nice catch up and giggle.
It’s always lovely to remember someone with such fond memories but so so sad to have to say goodbye to such a very loved human.
I will end with an old Irish saying :-
“Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, but love leaves a memory no one can steal”

I am sitting here thinking that is the best obituary I have ever read if not the saddest. It had been a hard week mourning a friend like no other. So many memories spent with Mike and Kelly, neighbours on Meadowbrook, many beverages shared. One weekend I will never forget is the Little league tournament in Amherst. Mike entertained us all weekend and of course our trip to Florida. Lots of laughs when we were all together. Our hearts break knowing the sadness his family and of course his countless friends must be feeling.
Our sincerest condolences to all of you.
