Obituary of James Howard MacDonald
It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness to announce the passing of James Howard MacDonald, age 81 of Lucasville NS, on November 6th, 2024.
Born in Goldenville, Guysborough Co. NS, he was the son of the late Neil and Irene (Sponagle) MacDonald. James was predeceased by his loving wife of 47 years, Roxanne MacDonald. He is survived by his daughter and best friend, Tara MacDonald and by his grandson, and favourite hockey player, Brayden MacDonald of Timberlea. James is survived by his loving siblings, Shirley Moase, Madeline Giffin, Georgina Price & Donna (Steve) Zoccole.
James was known by many as ‘Papa Jim’ and was loved dearly by so many. He would spend countless hours a week in the hockey rink or at the baseball field cheering on his grandson Brayden. His passion later in life was his frequent fishing trips to Lewis Lake with his fishing buddy Jerry. James made many friends while walking his dog, Bella, in the community of Timber Trails where he last resided. James had a very special place in his heart for his hunting buddy Dale Stewart, also known as ‘the kid,’ as well as his ‘soul mate’ baby Gia Pearl Gould.
James, a beacon of unwavering friendship and kindness, has left an incredible mark on the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him. He will leave a legacy through his many acts of kindness and his love for people. James will be missed dearly and will remain forever in our hearts. Fly high ‘Big Eagle’, fly high.
