Condolences to Kristene and family. My memories of Gordie go back to HMCS Quebec when we were very junior sailors.
We were friends in the old sailing club days and later as well. We have many great memories.

Always enjoyed sitting with Gord at the Legion for an afternoon of socializing. He had great stories to tell and loved to practice his French with my husband. He was doing very well with that. He also loved to brag about his children and grandchildren. There is no doubt about how much he loved them all. He will be dearly missed.

Very sorry to hear of the passing of Gord, he was like a mentor to me, we used to visit each other, have parties & get together s.
We sailed together on HMCS Kootenay in 1959 & visited many places ie: England, Germany, Ireland, Texas, When Gord retired we kept in touch as we both lived in Dartmouth N.S. & I was still in the Navy until 1971 when I retired.
We kept in touch after my Wife Carolyn & I moved to Ontario. At present I live in St. George, Brant County and I am really going to miss our telephone conversations & our e-mailing back & forth.
MAY YOU REST IN PEACE FOR YOU REALLY CERTAINLY DESERVE IT.

So sorry to read of Gord's passing. I had the great pleasure of serving with him in the CF Fleet School, Halifax towards the end of his career. He was the CSE Division Commander and I was his "XO". It was a challenging time but we had a very good working relationship and I remember that year as one of my more enjoyable ones. When talking to friends about Gord, the memories and stories are all good ones.
My sincere condolences to all his family.

All of Gord's family,
I am so sorry for your loss. Please accept my deepest condolences and sincere sympathy. Gord's and my path crossed many times throughout our time in the navy. More recently we gather on a regular basis with friends for as Gord would say "lunch and lies". Occasionally, I had the opportunity and good fortune to visit him in his apartment where we would share stories of travels and family over a beverage. Quick witted, even when was not feeling the best, he always had a joke or funny story to relate. He was a great friend, and I will miss him.
Also, know that my thoughts and prayers are with you all at this most difficult time.
Fair winds and following seas, Gord.
