Oh, Judy. I, like so many others, am still in deep shock from the news of Dave’s death. How incredibly unexpected and sad and I am so sorry for your loss. I have heard through a number of those in-the-know that he was so happy these days, and I suspect you had a great deal to do with that. I hope that proves soothing as you manoeuvre your way through this challenging, painful time. Sending warm hugs, Val & Blaise

The memories I have of Dave are interactions at a young point in my life in which I had questions for everything, confusion about where my place was in the world and these moments together never specifically provided me answers or insight but rather, provided me a sense of calm and perspective that life will just flow...and to let it flow. Not to fight it. I have always appreciated Dave's willingness to jump into anything I wanted to do, from sports, hikes to having lunch, coffee, beer. It was always, "sure". I could throw out ridiculous comments to deeply philosophical and he was game to engage. Pretty fearless ability to dive in to any subject. Now, much older, and around long enough to realize how unusual that was. Dave was a unique individual. A characteristic and strength seldom seen. RIP.

I was so fortunate to be introduced to Dave at the Sackville Sport Stadium where he kindly helped me to learn the game of pickle ball.Luckily I became a regular playing partner with him and also had the occasional game with his wonderful daughter, Jesse.Following a minor shoulder injury Dave made a point of stopping to chat every time he saw me at the gym to inquire of my progress. He would tell the best stories. I and a few others here will not step on to the court without imagining this kind and gregarious man on the opposite side of the net.

Dear Judy, we are deeply saddened to hear Dave passed away so suddenly. It's been a shock to hear but we are glad that it was not a painful passing. May the good Lord hold you in the palm of his hands and comfort you during your difficult days. So glad that Carolyn and Bruce are close by to be by your side for support. Sending lots of love and hugs. Pet and Geoff xx

I was just getting to know Dave over the last 4 years and most recently as his Pickleball partner. I am extremely sad for your loss and mine. All what I have just read in his obit was what he had shared with me and told me, right down to his best friend. There was not a conversation that went by without him mentioning his daughters, his girls, his children, he was so proud and loving towards them. I now know what I was feeling I was extremely lucky to have had my friendship with Dave, I will miss him dearly,
My sincere condolences to you all,
Crystal Spence, Sackville Sports Stadium

Dear Judy; Isabelle, and Jessica.
We can not imagine what you are going through and we are at a loss for words. Our hearts ache for your suffering.
The obituary summed up Dave very well. We know from that, that a day will come when your memories of him will be greater than the pain of his passing away.
Please accept our sincere condolences and sympathies for the loss of your husband and father.
Cheryl and Mike Melnyk.
