Tom and I were biker friends of Ron but before that Ron and family were back yard neighbours of my Mom, Dorothy Graham on Athorpe Dr. She thought the world of Ron and was always happy when he came home from out west. Tom went with Ron the day he bought the gold coloured Gold wing. Ron was excited and climbed in the car wearing his bedroom slippers. They laughed over that for years. Our sympathy to all who loved Ron. We will miss his laugh.

Hello Kairi:
My husband and I met you and your mother over a week ago when you were leaving Rpn's apartment and came down on the elevator with us. We still are so sad that your father had passed away over two weeks before and we did not know. I just found the obituary looking on line this morning. I am sorry we missed seeing it on the day it was published. We lived next door to Ron for almost seven years, four of them in apartment 513, and the last two in #515. It is hard every day to see the door of his apartment and know he is no longer there.
Keeping fit and going to the gym was so important to him, and healthy eating. One time when the power was out in the building I met him downstairs on his way to the kitchen to make some toast. I asked if he would like some of my homemade bread and he thanked me but said he liked the sprouted bread he bought. (He did not know that I have a stone wheat grinder and make bread with fresh ground wheat flour regularly.) We sometimes met him walking when we were out walking and would stop and chat, or walk a way with him. We admired his desire for independence and his drive to keep doing the things he could do. He had a positive attitude and a good sense of humour.
One time he invited us in to see the stationary bike he had just bought at Decathlon. He used to see John on his bicycle and told us he used to enjoy cycling and riding. We told him John had had a stroke in 2015 and could not ride his bike for over a year. Recently he told me he enjoyed hearing John playing "the horn" when he was leaving or coming back to his apartment. I told him it was a clarinet. We thought he was a musician but he said no, but he loved music.
We did not know he had lived many years in Cape Breton. John grew up in Sydney, Cape Breton, so they would have had lots to talk about had they known. We did not know his career. It is always sad to learn so many nice things about people after they die and to wish we had known these things earlier.
We extend our condolence to you, and your girls, (love their names) and all of Ron's family.
Sincerely, John & Janet MacLennan, Avonhurst Gardens, Dartmouth, NS

Ron you will be deeply missed. You always took the time to call me and I appreciated our chats about life on the phone. I always loved when you would come to Ontario and I remember the laughs we shared at the dinner table. You were a great "Grandpa" to the girls. Thank you for being a great father-in-law to my brother and me. You always treated my Mother with so much kindness and love. RIP my friend.

Kairi, and the entire Williams family, we are so saddened to learn of the passing of your dearly loved Dad. Hadn't seen him in awhile, but in the past whenever we did meet, we would always chat and catch up on recent events in our lives. He was always smiling and ever so pleasant, regardless of what vision and health issues he was going through. Sincere condolences to your family, and our thoughts and prayers are extended to all of you at this difficult time.

Sincere condolences on the loss of your wonderful Dad. Haven't seen him much in the past few short years, but was trying to keep up on his plight with mutual friends.
Was always so happy to chat with Ron and catch up on our families, Whitney Pier friends, and the hottest item at Costco that week! Ron was so proud of you, your accomplishments, and your family. Always couldn't wait for his next visit. Loved that hearty laugh and that big Bajan smile. Ron will be fondly remembered by so many.

Glen and I have known Ron for many years .. met him through the Gold Wing Road Riders Association ... he, Glen and our son Colin rode to a Gold Wing Rally together in North Carolina way back in the 90's. We reconnected 4 years ago when we moved to the apartment building where he lived , after not being in touch for several years. He would visit us 3 or 4 times a week .. we miss him dearly! He always looked at the puzzle we were doing at the time and occasionally would sample a treat .

We were saddened to learn of Ron’s passing. He was an inspiration to all who knew him. We will miss seeing him walking to and from our apartment building and the conversations we had with him. Even with his limited sight, he continued his walking and on the rainy days, he did his laps in the garage. Rest easy Ron - you will be missed. Chris and Frank Cameron
