I was very surprised recently to read of "Jerry's" passing last December after a battle with cancer. When I saw his obit, I remembered his great smile, sense of humour and memories of dances at the Fleet Club many years ago. Those were the days of live bands and I always considered Jerry to be my favourite dance partner. After we all went our separate ways, we surprisingly ran into each other a couple of times with mutual friends at the Legion and VAC District Office. Many of these friends, including those from the Fleet Club days, have now passed on also. I wish to send my condolences to his family & friends as I am sure he will be greatly missed. Have a dance or two for me, Jerry.......Sharon Karas (formerly Harper)

Our sympathies to Jerry's family. Jerry used to go vanning with our family (Jim and Paulette Langille) many years ago traveling around in our vans. Great memories. - Wendy (Langille) Peters

So sorry to hear of "Jerry's" passing. My condolences to his wife and family. I sailed with Jerry on the Yukon in the early 70s. He was a real gem of a man. He had a real uplifting personality. He could get down like the rest of us on occasion but he never stayed there.
I had the pleasure of meeting his family on a day sail on the Yukon. It was easy to see where his joy of life came from.
Please,if you could, let me know when his memorial will be.
God Bless Jerry. You were the real deal.

I will miss you Jerry, not just a friend but great brother in law. Lots of great memories of your laughter, jokes and especially you playing the spoons. Fly high with the angels
